What is stress?
Stress is a natural part of life. It is the body’s way of responding to pressure and challenges, and in its basic form, stress can be a driving force that helps us perform at our best. However, we distinguish between positive and negative stress.
Why do we experience stress?
Stress is a survival mechanism we’ve had since prehistoric times. Back then, the stress response was crucial for escaping predators or finding food. The body still reacts the same way today, but the stressors have changed. Instead of physical threats, it is now deadlines, work pressure, interpersonal conflicts, and expectations from ourselves and those around us that trigger the stress response.
